11/16/2022 - Make the Cards Challenge #68 Winter - Be Cool Be Chill Be Merry

Welcome back to another bi-weekly challenge here at Make the Cards Challenge and this week we are making Winter card! I am in the Midwest so winter is usually brutal (well, in my opinion since I am originally is from CA). To make winter not too cold or miserable, I created this cute penguin enjoying himself at the sled, with EYE closed! This stamp set has bunch of cute images for you to be able to create a scene, so I stamped the snow flakes, tree and the snow hill and finished it off with a cute sentiment. 11/2/2022 - Make the Cards Challenge #67 Theme Thankful - Thank You

Welcome back to another bi-weekly challenge here at Make the Card Challenge and this week we are doing theme – Tanksful. I created a Fall theme thank you card that I can send out to my customers when they placed an order. I used Forever Fern Dies to cute out this big leaf image in 2 different colors of cardstock. I paired it up with last year’s Harvest Meadow DSP and finished the card with a simple sentiment. The horizontal piece of Calypso Coral I actually sponged the edges to give it more dimension. 10/19/2022 - Make the Cards Challenge #66 Sketch - Jolly

Welcome back to another bi-weekly challenge here at Make the Cards Challenge and this week we have a sketch for you. I know it’s still a little bit too early to think about Christmas but I wanted to give you some inspiration so you can start them early. Before you know it, they are HERE! I switched the orientation to horizontal card and use the same die Alyson M. used on her card. All the sentiment are stamped in Black and then I filled in the Jolly with another stamp and the lights are colored in with Stampin’ Blends and Wink a Stella for some shine. 10/5/2022 - Make the Cards Challenge #65 Halloween - Owl / Happy Halloween

Welcome back to another bi-weekly challenge here at Make the Cards Challenge and this week we are making Halloween card! Can you even believe that we are in October already?! I can’t!! To celebrate this fun and wacky holiday, I used the hostess DSP from Stampin’ Up and sponged in the colors for pumpkin and ghosts. The upside down bat is created with a punch and sponge with White Craft Ink for some interests. I think this card is perfect for adults as well! Welcome back to another bi-weekly challenge here at Make the Cards Challenge and this week we are making Washi Tape card! I have to dig through my boxes to find the few washi tapes I have left, I haven’t been using them for ages! I picked a few that I believe they came in a bundle and lined them up alternately. I kept the card simple by just using the dies to create a leaf image with a simple sentiment. I also used the new Deckled Rectangle Dies. Welcome back to another bi-weekly challenge here at Make the Cards Challenges and this week we are making Fall Theme cards. I can’t believe we are in September already and H is back at Pre-K this year, time flies for sure. For this card, I used Harvest Meadow in the current catalog for the image and colored in with Stampin’ Markers. I also used the pairing DSP for this. Welcome back to another bi-weekly challenge here at Make the Card Challenge and today we are making School / Teacher card and I decided to make a back to school card for those that are starting a new chapter in their life! I think the sentiment is perfect for it and I used the stack of books images with different colors and an old style way to check out your library books with a cute image of a smarty pants worm! I used the current Stampin’ Up colors I have similar to it – Shaded Spruce/Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo. I picked Shaded Summer stamp set and colored in with the Stampin’ Markers and finished it off with a sentiment. I kept the layout pretty simple and I just recently got an order from a very nice lady in Evanston so this card will be for her! 7/27/2022 - Make the Card Challenge #60 - Use a Black Background - Thank You

Welcome back to another bi-weekly challenge here at Make the Card Challenge and this week we are using Black cardstock as a base for our creation! I dry embossed the piece with some brick folder and used the watercolor paper to die cut the floral image and colored it in with Aqua Painter and Re-inkers. I decided to turn the sketch upside down to have the stripes on the bottom right of my card using 2022-2014 In-Colors DSP stack. I then used the same color scheme to create the floral image. I used the DSP stack and picked a floral pattern and the Whisper White is dry embossed with a pattern. I added some interest on the main focal point with a fun swirly border and rhinestone. 5/18/2022 - Make the Card Challenge #55 Technique Challenge - It's Your Day!

Welcome back to another challenge here at Make the Cards Challenge and this week we are using Pattern Paper – DSP (designer series paper in Stampin’ Up terms). I know I sound like a broken record but I love SU’s DSP because they coordinate so well with the ink pads and I can just look at the paper to see what other colors I can used to match. In this case, I used the Heart Dollie and the Real Red as my card base. I added a ribbon and stamped It’s Your Day as a sentiment. 4/20/2022 - Make the Card Challenge #53 Technique - Ink Blending Background - Thanks

Welcome back to another week here at Make the Card Challenge and this time we are creating an ink blending background and this is what I came up with. I used the painter’s tape on both side to create a panel in the middle and used sponge with 3 different shades of blue, from the lightest to the mid darkest. The I used Stazon Ink with the tree image and added a Thanks sentiment. I finished the card with some Polished Dots. When I think of yellow, I definitely have the sunshine in mind and this is what I did with my card. The ray of sunshine are stamped with 2 different colors and the smiley face and the soft cheek colors are all using different shades of yellow! There are tons of fun way to use embossing folder and what I did is I inked up the folder and let the colors and the design imprints on the Whisper White cardstock to create a background. I used the current stamp set from the Mini Catalog to create a garden theme card to encourage to live life in the fullest. When I saw the sketch I immediately knew I want to use this Floral Square Dies. I cut the images in Whisper White and layering them with the In-Colors DSP and the banner is watching the DSP as well. Welcome back to another week of challenge here at Make the Cards Challenge and this week we are making Valentine’s card. To me, this day is to show your appreciation for all those around you that how much you love them, so this could be for your kids, your friends or your parents! The card I created today is a gumball machine card that is suitable for your lover since the sentiment is I Chew You! (or for your kiddo too). I stamped the small gumball image and colored it with Watercolor Pencils. I used all the bright colors I can think of.
